Campaign Manager, Persis Yu for State Senate

Norfolk & Suffolk District (Boston, Dedham, Norwood, Walpole, and Westwood)

This is a position to lead the campaign in a Democracy primary with a first-time candidate challenging a 16-year incumbent.

The campaign manager oversees all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the campaign, as well as working closely with the candidate to ensure short- and long-term goals for the campaign are being met or exceeded. This person must maintain a strong strategic vision for the direction of the campaign’s long-term goals. They direct the process of managing staff and volunteer leaders, as well as coordinating with consultants and vendors.

Campaign Manager, Tom Melville for State Representative

9th Norfolk District (Wrentham, Norfolk, Plainville, Medfield Precincts 3 & 4, Millis Precinct 1, and Walpole Precinct 5)

This is a position to lead the campaign for a first-time Democratic candidate in a General Election against a 2-term Republican.

The campaign manager oversees all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the campaign, as well as working closely with the candidate to ensure short- and long-term goals for the campaign are being met or exceeded. This person must maintain a strong strategic vision for the direction of the campaign’s long-term goals. Finance Associate, Almquist & Associates

Almquist & Associates (A&A) is a progressive political consulting firm that provides expert advice and training to build progressive political power as a means to achieve a participatory and democratic political system that sustains, empowers, and uplifts people and doesn't extract from them or oppress them.

A&A is looking to hire a part-time Finance Associate to support the fundraising efforts of progressive candidates running for office in Massachusetts to ensure progressives have the resources to run winning campaigns.

Overview

The Finance Associate will work alongside the candidate, campaign manager and finance committee to outline and meet the financial goals of the campaign by organizing and staffing call time, and planning and overseeing fundraising events. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Staffing candidate call time

    • Coaching the candidate to make effective contribution solicitations

    • Maintaining accurate records of pledges and contributions in NGP or Votebuilder and corresponding tracking spreadsheets

    • Identifying donor prospects

    • Following up on giving pledges in a timely manner

  • Executing fundraising events

    • Cultivating positive supportive relationships with fundraiser hosts

    • Creating template invitation emails, talking points, etc.

    • Planning event agendas and programs

    • Coordinating with hosts and speakers

    • Confirming attendees

    • Answering questions and providing encouragement for bundlers or event hosts

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate effectively, respectfully, and diplomatically with people of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels

  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to keep multiple projects on track at the same time

  • Ability to draft and write effective solicitation emails, web copy, etc.

  • Knowledge of NGP and/or Votebuilder preferred

  • Ability to navigate Google suite including Drive, Docs, and Sheets

  • Ability to work independently

This is a part-time contract position for an average of 10 hours per week, with an hourly rate of $29 per hour. Work is done remotely with own devices.
